Just as we have different hair colors, same way we equally have different teeth colors just as some will have a more yellowish teeth while some are being affected by smoking and drinking of coffee. However we have gathered five ways to keep your teeth white and shinning.
1] Keep your toothbrush clean. Make sure to replace your toothbrush every three to four months. Avoid storing it in a closed container, as bacteria can accumulate between the bristles over time, leading to plaque, enamel wear, and mouth infections.
2] Once every two weeks, you can also soak your toothbrush in a cup with chlorhexidine mouthwash for 15 minutes to make sure it is germ free.
3] with Hydrogen Peroxide
Use hydrogen peroxide. Commercial whitening kits aren’t cheap; for a cheaper solution, you might like to consider whitening your teeth at home using hydrogen peroxide for a similar effect. Bleaching teeth with hydrogen peroxide is acknowledged as a safe practice by the American Dental Association.
Purchase a bottle of hydrogen peroxide from your local drugstore. Hydrogen peroxide is commonly used to treat skin wounds, but its antiseptic properties are also good for oral hygiene. Hydrogen peroxide is typically packaged in a brown bottle. The opaque packaging keeps light from altering the makeup of the solution. Buy a 3% solution, which is safe for oral use and weak enough so it won’t cause sensitivity.
4] Baking soda
The secret to whitening your smile has been in your freezer all along! You’ve probably already noticed that those fancy whitening toothpastes contain baking soda. Well you can save yourself some money by simply wetting your toothbrush, dipping the bristles into a little baking soda and brushing stains away once per week.
5] COCONUT OIL
Right when we think we’ve discovered all of the myriad health benefits of coconut oil, we find something else fascinating.
In a study published in the Journal of Contemporary Dental Hygiene, researchers write, “Edible oil-pulling therapy is natural, safe and has no side effects. Hence, it can be considered as a preventive therapy at home to maintain oral hygiene.” The reason why coconut oil is an excellent preventive treatment is that it has powerful anti-bacterial properties.
All you need to do is put a tablespoon of coconut oil in your mouth and swish for about 20 seconds. Something else you can do: put a few drops on your toothbrush and brush per usual!
